Introduction

Gavin Bryce stepped onto the scene in 2018 with his debut single "Pain" at 16 years old—but his journey started even earlier. Before his first release, a freestyle video spread across social media, catching the attention of Courtlin Jabrae, who co-signed him shortly after. His early momentum also caught the ears of fourseasns and ChapoBanz, who helped kickstart GB’s music in Carbondale, Illinois, where "Pain" was recorded and his first show was held. In those early days, commenters frequently compared his flow and vocals to a young Eminem.GB’s early style was primarily driven by his love for lyricists like Kendrick Lamar and Ice Cube along with albums like “The Marshall Mathers LP”. Today, GB has evolved far beyond his original freestyle sound. Moving fluidly between aggressive lyrical tracks and vulnerable, gothic soundscapes, he aims to create dark, honest, straightforward mood music—Heavily influenced by the raw emotion of XXXTENTACION, the somber textures of Deftones, the melodic experimentation of Kid Cudi, and the dark, haunting tones of The Weeknd’s “Trilogy” and “Kiss Land.”
